Florida Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk has been enjoying his time with the Stanley Cup.

We’ll touch on all the things he did with the Cup over in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri later, but for now, there was one thing in particular that he did that perhaps stands above the rest.

On Thursday, Tkachuk brought the Stanley Cup to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

There, he shared it young patents while hanging out with them, signing autographs, taking pictures and just enjoying being with the most famous trophy in all of sports.

“It's amazing,” Tkachuk told KSDK News in St. Louis. “To me. It's all about their smile. They go through stuff that I could never even imagine, and their spirits and just their reaction, their smile is what it's all about, and it's absolutely priceless.”

Showing his good character is nothing new for Tkachuk.

It’s part of what makes him such an integral part of the Florida Panthers’ Championship core.

If you ask Tkachuk, growing up in St. Louis had a lot to do with forming the man he’s become.

“All the qualities of not just as a hockey player, but as a person, have all been brought up as a St Louis person,” Tkachuk said. “The qualities of a Midwest kid have really been established to me since a very young age; I was born in Arizona, but I grew up in St Louis, so all my roots and everything has all been brought up from St Louis. It's such a special place, and I always come back here.”

Tkachuk has been taking the Stanley Cup all over St. Louis, from schools he attended to local police and fire departments to his favorite restaurants, and doing it with his whole family.

It’s one thing to spend quality time with family back home, but its another to do it with the Stanley bleeping Cup!
