Gregory Campbell is joining Hockey Canada to help mold a championship roster ahead of this month’s highly anticipated World Championships in Switzerland.
It’s looking like the Florida Panthers are going to have some solid representation at this year’s World Championship.
On Monday, Hockey Canada announced the coaching and support staff for its 2026 IIHF World Championship squad.
Among those joining Team Canada are Panthers Assistant General Manager Gregory Campbell.
Campbell is one of two NHL executives, along with Andrew Cogliano, who serves as a special assistant to Colorado Avalanche GM Chris MacFarland, who were tapped to help molding the Canadian roster.
They’ll need to get to work quickly, as the tournament is set to take place later this month.
In a press release, Team Canada said its roster is expected to be announced in the coming days.
Campbell was hired by the Panthers in 2020 as Vice President of Player Personnel and Development, two weeks after the team named Bill Zito its next General Manager. After also serving as General Manager for the American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers, Florida’s AHL affiliate, Campbell was named Panthers Assistant General Manager in 2023.
The 2026 World Championships will run from May 15 to May 31 in Switzerland.
