Florida Panthers stars Matthew and Brady Tkachuk join the Canesfam at Hard Rock Stadium to ignite the crowd as the Miami Hurricanes begin their high-stakes pursuit of a national title.
The Tkachuk brothers will be making a special appearance at a major South Florida sporting event this week.
On Thursday night, the Miami Hurricanes will host their home opener against Florida A&M University at Hard Rock Stadium after returning home from their impressive 45-6 season-opening road win against Stanford last week.
The Canes announced on Tuesday morning that Florida Panthers stars Matthew and Brady Tkachuk will be on hand to help hype up all the Miami fans in the building.
Before kickoff, the Tkachuks will be the guests of honor invited to ring the official Hurricane Siren.
It won’t be the first time a Tkachuk has helped get Canes fans pumped up for a big game.
Last September, Matthew Tkachuk was invited to be the guest picker when ESPN’s “College Gameday” stopped by the University of Miami campus ahead of their rivalry game against the Florida Gators.
All the Hurricanes fans on hand went crazy when Tkachuk took Miami to take down the Gators.
He’s been a vocal supporter of the Hurricanes in the time since, and now he’s seemingly doing his part to welcome his younger brother Brady into the group affectionately known around town as Canesfam.
It’s a great time to jump on the bandwagon, as the Hurricanes are among the favorites to reach the College Football Playoff and compete for a spot in the CFP National Championship.
Last season the Hurricanes went on an impressive run during their first ever appearance in the College Football Playoff, defeating No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 6 Ole Miss to reach the CFP title game.
Miami ultimately lost 27-21 to Indiana University, but now Hurricanes Coach Mario Cristobal, along with Heisman Trophy hopefuls Darian Mensah at quarterback and wide receiver Malachi Toney, are poised to make another run at the school’s first championship since 2001.
As the Canes embark on their journey, we know they’ll have the Tkachuks cheering them on along the way.
