
The Wild drafted Damien Giroux with the 155th overall pick in the 2018 draft, which was the last pick of the fifth round.
Giroux spent three seasons in Iowa with the Wild's AHL Affiliate after playing four seasons with the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL. Giroux notched 101 goals and 194 points in 249 games, including a 44-goal and 75-point season in 2019-20.
The Hanmer, Ontario, native played three seasons in the AHL with the Iowa Wild where he notched 13 goals and 48 points in 149 games.
Giroux did play in one regular season game last year for the Wild when they were resting some of their forwards. He got a little under 14 minutes of ice time and picked up an assist on Nic Petan's game-tying goal with 5:39 left in the game.
It is just a one-year contract with the Amerks which came after the Wild didn't send a qualifying offer to Giroux on June 30th.
