Marcus Johansson only played two minutes and 47 seconds last night on four total shifts. He left halfway through the first period with an injury and did not return.
Wild head coach John Hynes did not have an update on the forward's injury or if he would be ready to play tonight. If he can't play tonight, the Wild would have to go with seven defensemen and 11 forwards unless they call up a forward.
Freddy Gaudreau was a late scratch in yesterday's game with an upper-body injury and will likely miss tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks.
In the Blues game last night, Johansson took his third shift with about 11 minutes left in the first period. A pretty harmless play when Mats Zuccarello passed the puck to Johansson who carried the puck over the line.
Johansson was hit by Colton Parayko but stayed on his feet and did not hit the boards or anything. Johansson did not play for the next five minutes and eventually took a five second shift with about seven minutes left in the first period.
He hoped over the boards but skated for five seconds before the Wild entered the zone offsides. Johansson then went to the bench and down the tunnel. He did not return after that.
His status will likely be updated around 5:00 p.m. CT tomorrow just an hour before the game.
