Quinn Hughes and fresh additions join Kirill Kaprizov in St. Paul, while Jesper Wallstedt takes the spotlight in net with Filip Gustavsson sidelined by early-season injury.
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild have officially announced their roster for 2026-27 training camp, with 48 players set to report to TRIA Rink beginning Sept. 17.
Minnesota’s camp roster features 25 forwards, 16 defensemen and seven goaltenders as the Wild begin preparations for the 2026-27 season.
One notable name on the roster is goaltender Filip Gustavsson, although he won’t be competing for a spot to begin the season. Gustavsson is expected to start the year on injured reserve and remain sidelined until November.
That leaves Jesper Wallstedt and offseason addition Calvin Pickard as the two NHL goaltenders entering camp, while Filip Ruzicka, Riley Mercer, Chase Wutzke and William Rousseau will also participate. Emergency backup goaltender Peter Thome rounds out the group.
Up front, Minnesota’s established NHL core will be in camp, including Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Joel Eriksson Ek, Ryan Hartman, Michael McCarron and Marcus Foligno. New addition Blake Coleman, and mid-season additions in Bobby Brink and Nick Foligno are also among the forwards reporting.
The roster also provides another look at several younger players competing for opportunities, including Danila Yurov, Charlie Stramel, Hunter Haight and Riley Heidt.
On defense, Quinn Hughes headlines a group that also includes Brock Faber, Jonas Brodin, Jared Spurgeon and Zach Bogosian. Daemon Hunt, Carson Lambos, Viking Gustafsson-Nyberg, Jack Peart and David Spacek are among the younger defensemen who will be trying to make an impression during camp.
The Wild will play four preseason games, beginning Sept. 19 against the Chicago Blackhawks at Grand Casino Arena. Minnesota will then travel to Chicago for a rematch Sept. 21 before facing the Dallas Stars on the road Sept. 23. The preseason concludes Sept. 25 against Dallas at Grand Casino Arena.

Defensemen (16): Olli Määttä, Viking Gustafsson Nyberg, Brock Faber, Ben Dexheimer, Zach Bogosian, Jonas Brodin, Matt Kiersted, Jack Peart, Quinn Hughes, Jared Spurgeon, Daemon Hunt, Carson Lambos, Roman Schmidt, Stevie Leskovar, David Spacek and Mike Koster.
Goaltenders (7): Jesper Wallstedt, Calvin Pickard, Filip Gustavsson, Filip Ruzicka, Riley Mercer, Chase Wutzke and William Rousseau.
Peter Thome will also be in camp as the Wild’s emergency backup goaltender.
Training camp opens Sept. 17 at TRIA Rink, giving Minnesota its first opportunity to evaluate a roster that underwent several changes during the offseason before the regular season begins.
