    Nic Petan played six games for the Minnesota Wild in 2023-24.

    Per the team's announcement, Nic Petan has signed a contract with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL. 

    Petan, 29, was an AHL All-Star last year for the Iowa Wild. He recorded 12 goals, 28 assists, and 40 points in 44 games for Iowa. In six NHL games with the Wild, Petan recorded two assists. 

    He was traded by the Wild to the New York Rangers at the deadline for Turner Elson. After the trade Petan finished with three goals and eight points in 15 games for Hartford. He did not receive a call up to the Blueshirts.

    The 5-foot-9 forward spent two seasons in the Wild's organization. In 2022-23 Petan posted 23 goals, 39 assists, and 62 points in 53 games for Iowa. He played in ten NHL games with the Wild and had one goal and two assists. 

    His Iowa Wild career will end with 35 goals, 67 assists, and 102 points in 97 games. He will also finish his Wild career with one goal and five points in 16 games. 

    In 252 career WHL games Petan recorded 110 goals, 248 assists, and 358 points. He just could not translate that to the NHL. In 170 NHL games Petan recorded seven goals, 28 assists, and 35 points. 

    His AHL career was much different. In 296 games Petan recorded 95 goals, 194 assists, and 289 points. He will now take his scoring talents to the KHL.
