During the middle of the season last year the Wild installed a new Meyer Sound system at Xcel Energy Center which enhanced the fan experience when at the arena.

This season they are teaming up with the American Tower Corporation to install a 5G Distributed Antenna System, ahead of the Wild’s 2023 season, according to the Business Wire.

The American Tower Corporation is one of the largest global Real Estate Investment Trusts and is a leading independent owner, operator, and developer of wireless and broadcast communications real estate, with approximately 223,000 global communications assets.

Their goal along with the Wild's is to provide fans with a better network to share their live game-time experiences with friends and family when inside the Xcel Energy Center.

“We were ready to enter the new era of fan engagement and provide cutting-edge applications for the Minnesota Wild fans, with an updated, neutral-host 5G DAS,” Jim Ibister, Senior Vice President of Facility Administration, Minnesota Sports & Entertainment told the Business Wire

"Our fans expect a fast and reliable network, so they can share their live game-time experience with friends and family. This network upgrade will provide a state-of-the-art experience today and set the foundation for future technologies for years to come."

With a brand new sound system in the arena that makes for sound to be evenly distributed throughout Xcel Energy Center, with an enhanced bass response for sound effects, and a new 5G antenna system, Wild fans will have an unbelievable fan experience they can't get elsewhere.
