Wild Land Fifth on McKeen's NHL Prospect Pool Rankings

The Minnesota Wild's prospect pool ranks fifth in the NHL on McKeen Hockey's rankings.

Wild rank as the 5th best Prospect Pool in the NHL.

McKeen's Hockey just released their NHL Prospect Pool Rankings for every team and the Minnesota Wild ranked fifth in the NHL.

Jesper Wallstedt ranks as the Wild's No. 1 prospect according to McKeens Hockey. Danila Yurov is second on the list, Riley Heidt is third, Liam Ohgren is fourth and Marat Khusnutdinov is fifth.

Carson Lambos, Ryan O'Rourke, Charlie Stramel, Caeden Bankier, and Daemon Hunt round out six through ten.

Wallstedt, 21, played in 45 AHL games this season for the Iowa Wild. He went 22-19-4 with a 2.70 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage with two shutouts. He started three games in the NHL as well and went 2-1-0 with a 3.01 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage with one shutout.

Yurov, 20, notched 21 goals and 49 points in 62 KHL games for Metallurg Magnitogorsk. He broke Vladimir Tarasenko's KHL record for most points as a U20 and won the KHL Championship.

He recorded six goals and nine points in 23 playoffs games for Metallurg. Yurov signed a one-year extension to stay in the KHL next season.

Heidt, 19, was the Wild's second round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He led the WHL in assists with 80 and scored 37 goals as well for 117 points in 66 games for the Prince George Cougars.

He recorded three goals and 19 points in 15 playoff games for the Cougars and broke a franchise record. He recently signed his entry-level deal with the Wild and will join the team at training camp next year.

Ohgren, 20, was the Wild's 19th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and spent the last season in the SHL with Farjestad BK. He recorded 12 goals and 19 points in 26 games and played three games in the AHL with the Iowa Wild after his season ended in the SHL.

He didn't record a point in the three AHL games but Ohgren was recalled to the NHL where he played in four games. He recorded one goal and one assist in four games for the Wild.

Khusnutdinov, 21, was the Wild's 37th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and was playing in the KHL for the last four years. He recorded six goals and 20 points in 49 KHL games for HK Sochi before he came over to the NHL.

In 16 NHL games for the Wild, Khusnutdinov recorded one goal and four points and displayed his great two-way game as a center.
