Wild prospect Samuel Hlavaj won top player of the tournament for Slovakia.
Samuel Hlavaj entered the quarterfinal game against Canada as the best goaltender in the whole tournament. But after allowing five goals to Canada, Filip Gustavsson has now taken over as the top goaltender.
That being said, Hlavaj was still named as one of three players to be given an award as the top player for Slovakia. He is one of three Wild players to have been eliminated and given this award as well.
Marco Rossi was named Austria's top player and Matt Boldy was named as USA's top player.
Hlavaj, 22, was signed in early April after he played in 28 games for HC Škoda Plzeň of the Czech Extraliga. He posted a 3.10 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage.
His 2024 IIHF Men's World Championships have come to an end. He went 3-2-0 with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in five games for Slovakia.
