Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek finished tenth in Selke Voting.
The NHL announced the winner of the Frank J. Selke award yesterday. This year's recipient of the award was Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov.
The Frank J. Selke Trophy, recognizes the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game, as selected by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
Barkov, 28, was the first choice on 165 of the 194 ballots and was a top-five pick of 192 voters. He was the runaway winner with 1,817 voting points.
Carolina's Jordan Staal finished second in voting and Toronto's Auston Matthews finished third in voting. Wild center Joel Eriksson EK finished tenth in voting.
Eriksson Ek, 27, finished with three second place votes, five third place and fourth place votes, and four fifth place votes. He finished with 65 total points on the ballot.
