Tyson Barrie may finally be moved ahead of the trade deadline.

It has not been a great first season for Tyson Barrie in Nashville and for a while now, there has been speculation that he is going to be moved. The veteran defenseman is a UFA after the season and has been a healthy scratch for a number of games, so a change of scenery could be huge for him.

The Predators can't justify putting him back in the lineup since the team has played so well recently, but as the trade deadline quickly approaches, insider Frank Seravalli believes that there is a team that Barrie could be dealt to this season.

Even if there is an injury, the Predators like Spencer Stastney and want to get him in games before the end of the season, according to Jeff Marek. So if Barrie isn't moved, it is hard to see him playing in very many more games for Nashville this season.

The Calgary Flames are competitive, even after making a number of trades, and are actually the closest team behind the Predators and their playoff spot. This likely won't stop a potential trade though as Seravalli said on Oilers Now that, "I think it's highly likely, I'd say, a 75% chance, if not higher, that they trade Tyson Barrie. And I wouldn't be surprised if, after the Calgary Flames execute the Noah Hanifin deal, that Tyson Barrie is on his way to Calgary."

The Flames have competed and general manager Craig Conroy likely doesn't want the team to feel like he's given up on the season. Even adding someone like Barrie, at a low cost, could show that. I don't think the Predators expect to get a lot for Barrie, but they should get some sort of asset to add to what they already have.
