New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that defensemen Luke Hughes and Brenden Dillon will both not be in the lineup again for the team's Game 4 matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Hughes and Dillon have not played since Game 1 after suffering injuries during that contest. Now, with this update from Keefe, it has been confirmed that the two blueliners will still not be good to go in a big Game 4 matchup for the Devils.
This is rough news for the Devils, as Hughes and Dillon are big parts of their blueline. In addition, Game 4 is massive for New Jersey, as a win would allow them to tie the series back up at 2-2. A loss, on the other hand, would make them be down 3-1 in the series, which is never easy to come back from.
Hughes, 21, played in 71 games this season for the Devils, where he had seven goals, 37 assists, and 44 points. Dillon, on the other hand, had two goals, 14 assists, 16 points, and 191 hits in 82 contests this campaign.
