New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula had his struggles during the 2024-25 season. In 69 regular-season games on the campaign, the veteran forward posted 11 goals, 21 points, and a minus-6 rating. This included a 28-game streak where he did not record a point.
While Haula had a rough campaign, there is reason to believe that the 34-year-old forward can have a bounce-back season next year with the Devils. The 2009 seventh-round pick has shown during his career that he can produce solid depth offensive production when playing at his best, and that includes in recent previous years.
Just back during the 2023-24 season with the Devils, Haula posted 16 goals, 35 points, and 94 hits in 76 contests. This was after he had 14 goals, 41 points, and a plus-13 rating in 80 games during his first campaign as a Devil during the 2022-23 season. Thus, he certainly has the potential to get his offense back up, and the 2025-26 season will offer him a clean slate to try to do just that.
Furthermore, Haula's play at the end of the regular-season was encouraging. In his final 17 games of the regular-season, he scored six goals and recorded 10 points.
Nevertheless, if Haula's offense goes back up next season, it would undoubtedly benefit the Devils greatly as they look to take that next step and blossom into legitimate contenders. It will be very fascinating to see if the 12-year veteran can have a much-needed bounce-back season in 2025-26 from here.
