The New Jersey Devils took a step in the right direction this season. After a rough 2023-24 season, they bounced back this campaign and finished with a 42-33-7 record. This was good enough for them to qualify for the playoffs after missing them last year.
Devils star Jesper Bratt was a significant reason for the team's turnaround this campaign, as he put together a fantastic season. In 81 regular-season games this year for New Jersey, he scored 21 goals and set new career highs with 67 assists and 88 points. With these excellent numbers, he led the Devils in both assists and points this season.
Bratt only seems to be getting better with each season that passes by, too. After posting back-to-back 73-point seasons with the Devils in 2021-22 and 2022-23, he posted a then-career-high 83 points in 82 games during the 2023-24 campaign. Now, he took another step forward with his offense this season for the Devils and was their top producer in the process.
It is going to be very interesting to see how Bratt builds off his career year with the Devils in 2025-26 from here. With the way he has been trending, it would not be surprising in the slightest if he hits another new level offensively next season. If he does, it will only make the Devils a more challenging team to go up against.
