    The Philadelphia Flyers began their back-to-back weekend against the Buffalo Sabres, where a largely dominant performance wasn't enough for two points, as they fell 4-2 at the KeyBank Center.

    New goaltender Ivan Fedotov made his first NHL start against Buffalo, although he admitted that it was "not the best game" for him and that he thought he "should be better" for his first game. 

    Tage Thompson opened up the scoring, putting the Sabres up 1-0 in the first period.

    Noah Cates was able to tie things up 1-1, scoring his second goal in two games.

    Buffalo pulled ahead again, courtesy of a goal from Rasmus Dahlin.

    Jack Quinn then made it 3-1 to the Sabres near the end of the second period.

    In the third period, Owen Tippett got the Flyers within one again, scoring his 28th goal of the season.

    "I think we played the right way," head coach John Tortorella said. "We've been on our toes for a few weeks now, so that's the way he have to play. We have to bury more of our chances obviously, but that's the way we need to play. A lot of the game I'm happy about, we just didn't finish."

    The Flyers will be right back at it, taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Apr. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
