The Philadelphia Flyers took on the Carolina Hurricanes in a tight Metropolitan Divison matchup, where a strong performance couldn't save them from an overtime loss.
Scott Laughton and Travis Konecny found the back of the net for the Flyers, while Jordan Martinook and Jalen Chatfield got on the scoresheet for the Hurricanes in regulation, while Seth Jarvis went on to score the OT game winner.
The Flyers thought they got on the board first on an Owen Tippett goal, but the Hurricanes challenged the goal, and found that Travis Konecny's positioning ruled the goal offside.
Martinook then hit the back of the net for with a goal that would count to put the Canes up 1-0.
Scott Laughton responded almost immediately, putting the Flyers level at 1-1.
Although the Flyers got some close shots, the Canes would be the ones to take the lead, thanks to a Jalen Chatfield goal to make it a 2-1 game.
Travis Konecny broke the scoring drought he's had since returning from injury on Mar. 7, putting home a between-the-legs pass from Morgan Frost.
Seth Jarvis called game, though, slotting home the game winner to give the Canes the two points.
The Flyers will return to home ice on Mar. 23 for a 1:00 p.m. puck drop against the Boston Bruins.
