The Philadelphia Flyers are currently rebuilding, and there is an expectation that they will be sellers this season. Because of this, NHL insider Frank Seravalli listed Rasmus Ristolainen and Joel Farabee among the top trade candidates in the NHL right now.

Ristolainen has created plenty of chatter in the rumor mill this season. It is understandable, as he is a big right-shot defenseman who can handle playing top-four minutes and on the penalty kill. Because of this and his physical style of play, he could garner a lot of interest from playoff clubs this season.

Ristolainen has one goal, three points, and 37 hits in 20 games this season. He is signed until the end of the 2026-27 season and has a $5.1 million cap hit.

Like Ristolainen, Farabee has been the subject of trade rumors for quite some time. This was especially so during the off-season, but a move did not come to fruition. However, things could change on that front later this campaign, as Farabee would be a solid addition for teams looking to improve their top six.

Farabee is 24 years old and carries a $5 million cap hit until the end of the 2027-28 season. He could generate interest from both playoff and non-playoff teams, as he is young and would be far more than a rental. In 20 games this season, Farabee has three goals and eight points.
