This Flyers prospect is playing excellently down in the AHL.

As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

The Philadelphia Flyers have many exciting prospects with bright futures in their system. One of them is forward Samu Tuomaala. The 5-foot-10 forward is playing spectacularly in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms right now.

Tuomaala has been making a significant difference offensively so far this campaign, posting four goals and 10 points in 11 games. He is also not showing any signs of slowing down, either, as he has two goals and six points in his last six games.

Seeing Tuomaala thrive at the AHL level is very encouraging for the Flyers. If the 2021 second-round pick continues to play so well down there, a recall to the Flyers' roster could be in his near future.

Tuomaala showed promise this past season with the Phantoms, too, as he had 15 goals and 43 points in 69 games. However, he is hitting a new level early on this season, and it will be a blast to see how he builds on it from here.
