It has been a tough start to the season for the Philadelphia Flyers, as their 4-8-1 record effectively demonstrates. With the club rebuilding, it is not particularly surprising that they are at the bottom of the NHL standings.
With this, it appears likely that the Flyers will end up being sellers this season. They have some interesting trade candidates to keep an eye on, and veteran forward Scott Laughton is undoubtedly one of them.
Scott LaughtonLaughton, 30, generated plenty of trade chatter leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, but a move did not come to fruition. However, with the Flyers struggling and Laughton being a valuable piece, the 2012 first-round pick could draw trade interest from playoff clubs yet again this season.
Laughton would also be more than a rental for any team looking to add him, as he has a $3 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-26 season. Thus, this naturally adds to his appeal.

Because of this, he would be a big-time addition for a playoff club nearing the deadline.
In 13 games this season with the Flyers, Laughton has two goals, five points, and 42 hits.
