As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

Today (Oct. 7) is a big day in the NHL, as every team in the NHL must set their opening night rosters by 5 p.m. ET.

Due to this, the Philadelphia Flyers have officially announced their opening night roster for their matchup against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 11.

Jett Luchanko is a notable name on the list. The 2024 first-round pick has made the NHL roster at the age of 18, which is not too common. Naturally, he will be a big-time player to watch at the beginning of the season. If he performs well, he could stick around for the season.

Matvei Michkov is another big name on the Flyers' opening night roster. This is not surprising in the slightest, as he played magnificently during the pre-season. However, the Flyers will now get to see their top prospect get into regular-season action, which is quite exciting.

This will also be Ivan Fedotov's first full season in the NHL. The 27-year-old made three appearances for the Flyers last season, posting a 0-1-1 record, a .811 save percentage (SV%), and a 4.95 goals-against average (GAA). While he did not have the hottest of starts last year, he has the potential to bounce back in 2024-25. This is especially so when looking at his KHL success.

Here is the Flyers' full opening night roster.

Forwards: Bobby Brink, Noah Cates, Sean Couturier, Nicolas Deslauriers, Joel Farabee, Tyson Foerster, Morgan Frost, Garnet Hathaway, Travis Konecny, Scott Laughton, Jett Luchanko, Matvei Michkov, Ryan Poehling & Owen Tippett

Defensemen: Jamie Drysdale, Erik Johnson, Rasmus Ristolainen, Travis Sanheim, Nick Seeler, Cam York & Egor Zamula

Goalies: Samuel Ersson & Ivan Fedotov
