Although tonight is not technically do or die for the Philadelphia Flyers, a playoff appearance is unlikely if they don't beat the Columbus Blue Jackets.
According to Moneypuck.com, the percentage of the Flyers making the postseason change dramatically based on tonight's result.

Coming into tonight's game, the Flyers have a 53.1% chance of making the postseason. On their current six-game losing streak, Philadelphia has dropped from third in the Metropolitan Division to out of the playoffs. Things get even dicier with the Pittsburgh Penguins staving off a comeback from the Tampa Bay Lightning and winning 5-4 in regulation.
If the Flyers beat the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, they will jump over the Penguins and New York Islanders into third place in the division. A regulation win would be handy, too, as the Flyers have the same as the Washington Capitals and already more than the Islanders. Regulation wins are the first tiebreaker.
A loss in regulation would put a massive damper on a season that quickly became so hopeful. A 20.6% drop would put the Flyers in a position where winning their remaining four games gives them just a CHANCE at making the postseason.
While an OT loss is not the end of the world, the Penguins' victory today means the Flyers need a win at all costs.
If there is ever a time for the Flyers to end the six-game losing skid, it's tonight against a team with 21 fewer points in the standings.
