The Philadelphia Flyers drafted Bryce Brodzinski 196th overall in 2019, but it's looking increasingly unlikely that he will sign an entry-level contract with the team as the clock ticks down on their holding of his rights.
The Flyers own Brodzinski's rights until August 15, 2024, but if he does not sign his ELC by that date, he will become a free agent.
According to Jess Myers of The Rink Live, the Minnesota native will most likely opt for free agency instead of signing with the Flyers. As of publication, there have not been many discussions between the Flyers and Brodzinski, with no contracts of any kind being drawn up.
Brodzinski, who has spent the last five years playing college hockey with the University of Minnesota Gophers after utilizing his COVID-19 extra year of eligibility, has played 185 games, recording 60 goals and 59 assists. He was also named captain of the team in his fifth year.
While he will look to continue his pursuit of being an NHL player, likely starting out in the AHL after graduating college, it's not looking like his career will continue with the Flyers.
