This Flyers forward is performing well during his big opportunity.

As Denver Barkey heads back to the London Knights after spending the last couple of months watching the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp from the sidelines, he reflects on his recovery from illness and coming back a stronger player than before.

The Philadelphia Flyers recalled forward Anthony Richard last week. With the club dealing with injury trouble, it opened the door for the 27-year-old forward to get his first chance on the Flyers' NHL roster.

So far, Richard is thriving immensely during his golden opportunity with Philly.

Richard has provided the Flyers with solid offensive production during his call-up thus far. He notably scored his first goal as a Flyer during their Nov. 9 matchup against the Florida Panthers. Furthermore, he recorded the primary assist on defenseman Erik Johnson's first-period goal against the San Jose Sharks on Nov. 11.

However, he played his best game as a Flyer in the club's most recent matchup against the Ottawa Senators. The skilled forward posted a goal and an assist in the third period to help tie the game back up at 4-4. The Flyers would then win it in overtime.

Overall, Richard is proving to be a nice surprise for the Flyers, and it will be fun to see how he builds off his hot start from here.
