The Pittsburgh Penguins are getting closer to a healthy roster with Noel Acciari returning to practice.
Noel Acciari has been absent from the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup since suffering a lower-body injury and being placed on injured reserve on December 2.
Despite his injury, Acciari has been traveling with the Penguins for their road games and slowly making progress every step of the way.
Acciari has most recently been skating on his own, but this is his first practice back with his teammates.
Without Acciari in the lineup, the Penguins’ penalty killing units have begun to struggle and could really use his presence again.
In 22 games, Acciari has scored a pair of goals and an assist, but has been a great asset to the Penguins depth as their fourth line center.
Acciari appeared to be working in his usual spot on the fourth line with Jeff Carter and Jansen Harkins on his wings.
Rickard Rakell has also been working his way back from an injury and took his second full skate in as many days.
For the second straight day, Rakell took line rushes with Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel on the first line.
