The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to have a busy off-season after a disappointing 2024-25 season. One clear area that they should look to improve is their defensive group, and this is especially the case when it comes to their left side.

When looking at trade candidates around the NHL who could make a lot of sense for the Penguins, New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller stands out big time.

Miller is one of the top names floating around the rumor mill with the summer here. After a tough season, the Rangers are expected to make changes to their group, and Miller is easily one of their top trade candidates. Elite Prospects' Cam Robinson also recently reported that the Rangers have informed teams that they have made Miller available but are also considering the "offer sheet route."

When looking at the Penguins' blueline, Miller is exactly the kind of defenseman they should be looking to add. If acquired, he would instantly become their best left-shot defenseman. In addition, when noting that Miller is only 25 years old, he would fit beautifully on the Penguins as they continue their retool.

If the Penguins acquired Miller, he would be a clear answer for their top pairing and would give them another option for both their power play and their penalty kill. Thus, he would have the potential to be an incredibly important part of the Penguins' lineup if acquired.

Miller appeared in 74 games this season with the Rangers, posting seven goals, 27 points, 107 hits, and 110 blocks. In 368 games over five seasons with the Blueshirts, he has recorded 36 goals, 132 points, and a plus-49 rating.
