It seems like the Pittsburgh Penguins will suit up without Bryan Rust yet again this season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins will likely be without forward Bryan Rust for yet another extended period of time.
Rust did not take to the ice in the third period during the Penguins most recent loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, finishing with just 12:03 of ice time.
Head coach Mike Sullivan stated following the game that Rust was being evaluated for an upper-body injury, and that continues to be the case.
After a practice in preparation for their battle with the Florida Panthers, Sullivan stated that Rust was still being evaluated.
Sullivan ruled Rust out for the contest against the Panthers.
Drew O’Connor took over Rust’s spot during practice alongside Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel putting Reilly Smith back on the second line with Evgeni Malkin.
The Penguins have suffered numerous injuries and will likely play against the Panthers with five forwards that saw time in the AHL this season.
