Chad Ruhwedel departed the Pittsburgh Penguins bench early in their recent win.
For the second consecutive game, the Pittsburgh Penguins ended their contest down a skater.
This time around, defenseman Chad Ruhwedel was the early exit from the Penguins bench, suffering an injury in the final frame against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Following the shutout victory, head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed that Ruhwedel left with a lower-body injury, and there were no further updates.
Ruhwedel played his last shift near the midway point of the third period and totaled 14 shifts on the night.
Over those 14 shifts, Ruhwedel accumulated a total of 10:46 of ice time.
The Penguins are already down a couple of depth defenders with P.O. Joseph recently being placed on injured reserve, and John Ludvig playing with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on a conditioning stint.
