Noel Acciari is out of the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup just minutes before puck drop against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Kris Letang believes the Pittsburgh Penguins are on an upward trajectory at the midpoint of the season.

PITTSBURGH – As the puck was dropped between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes, there was a late scratched announced. The Penguins announced that forward Noel Acciari was a late scratch.

The Penguins were already down Reilly Smith and recalled Colin White from the American Hockey League, but he was not part of the initial lineup announcement. White is officially skating as the Penguins’ fourth line center with this Acciari update.

During the Penguins overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks, Noel Acciari took a beating and was on the bench in pain on multiple occasions. Acciari finished the contest but practiced on his own prior to the option team skate the next day.

White is slotting in for his Penguins’ debut against the Hurricanes and centering Jansen Harkins and Jeff Carter.
