It won't be an easy night for the Pittsburgh Penguins with the Colorado Avalanche in town.
No matter the circumstance, the Pittsburgh Penguins were going to have their hands full when the Colorado Avalanche came to town.
Not only will the Penguins have to deal with a Stanley Cup contender, but they’ll look to out an end to an NHL record.
With a win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday, the Avalanche set an NHL record with their 15th consecutive road victory.
Having only played six games this season, this record obviously stretches into the 2022-23 season; their last loss on the road came against the Dallas Stars on March 4, 2023.
No matter the arena, the Avalanche have gotten off to a great start to the 2023-24 season with a perfect 6-0-0 record heading into Pittsburgh.
The Penguins, meanwhile, have been struggling with a 2-4-0 record and a few different problem areas.
Despite the record, the Penguins will have to rise to the occasion against the Avalanche, and they seem ready for the challenge.
“They move the puck quick,” Sidney Crosby said. “They have a lot of guys that are really dangerous if you give them time and space.”
It’s not going to be an easy night for the Penguins, but even with the recent stumbles, they’re still a confident group and know there is plenty of hockey ahead.
