The Pittsburgh Penguins are honoring Adam Johnson during their game against the Anaheim Ducks.

The Pittsburgh Penguins joined the hockey world in mourning after the tragic news of Adam Johnson’s passing. After sending out a statement about their former player, the Penguins are going above and beyond to acknowledge and properly celebrate Adam Johnson prior to their game against the Anaheim Ducks.

To further recognize and honor Adam, the Penguins have put several plans in place. The team will wear special helmet decals tonight in remembrance of Johnson. The decal will read “AJ47”, a nod to the number he wore during his NHL stint in Pittsburgh.

The organization also announced that there will be both a pregame ceremony and celebration of life as well.

The Ducks have announced that they will also wear stickers on their helmet honoring Johnson.

Johnson played parts of three seasons in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. He appeared in 13 NHL games over two of those seasons, tallying one goal and two more assists. With the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he put up three straight 10+ goal seasons.
