Kyle Dubas Might Have Rejected Penguins Job

The Kyle Dubas saga could be coming to an end soon, but will it be with the Pittsburgh Penguins?

With Kyle Dubas deciding on his future, is the Senators job currently more attractive than the Penguins?

The Pittsburgh Penguins are in the middle of quite the roller coaster ride while waiting on a decision from Kyle Dubas.

It was initially reported by Mark Madden on 105.9 the X that Dubas and the Penguins were in the midst of finalizing a deal.

Madden said he was told that a deal was being signed and Dubas was beginning to make his own hires.

Not long after, Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff told SportsNet’s the Fan Drive Time that he has heard the complete opposite.

While not confident enough to report it, Seravalli said that he has an indication that Dubas actually turned down the Penguins.

Seravalli said the Penguins and Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have reengaged conversations with other front office candidates.

Dubas has been FSG’s top priority since the beginning of the search and seemed like a deal was all but certain when the former Toronto Maple Leafs GM met with captain Sidney Crosby.

Speculation has been floating around that Dubas might find a job with the Ottawa Senators more attractive than the Penguins.

The Senators currently have a long tenured general manager in Pierre Dorion and a president of hockey operations in Tim Pattyson.
