The Pittsburgh Penguins don't seem to be alone in the hunt for Kyle Dubas.
It’s no secret that the Pittsburgh Penguins want Kyle Dubas in their front office and Dubas has gotten pretty far in conversations with the organization.
There is, however, one obstacle that might be in the way of the Penguins catching the biggest fish of the offseason: The Ottawa Senators.
Following the death of Eugene Melnyck in March of 2022, the Senators’ franchise hit the market to be sold.
Over the past few months a couple of high-profile groups have put a team together and made bids for team.
As the franchise closes in on a final sale, insiders have begun to wonder if Dubas, is part of the plans for an incoming ownership group.
Dubas grew up a Senators fan and after years of turmoil, it seems like they are getting back on track to be a top contender in the NHL.
People have drawn the conclusion that the Senators job would be more attractive than what’s available in Pittsburgh because they have a longer window of possibilities.
The Penguins entered the Memorial Day weekend willing to wait on Dubas to make a decision with them.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman thinks that part of the decision Dubas has to make if weighing his options that possibly sit with the Senators.
Friedman thinks that Dubas still needs the time to make the right move for his family and the Senators might have a foot in the running.
The Senators currently have Pierre Dorion as their general manager but might not last through the transition of ownership.
