One of the smartest people in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization can now say he’s a little smarter as Kyle Dubas received an honorary doctorate from Brock University.

The Penguins’ new president spoke to the graduating class, as well, discussing the work he did while attending Brock and his touching on his departure from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Brock presented him with a degree in Doctor of Law honoris causa and can be referred to as Dr. Dubas.

While a student at Brock, Dubas took his first job in hockey as a scout for the Sault. St. Marie Greyhounds.

Dubas talked about his time working with the Greyhounds while attending Brock and he told the graduates to look at their future’s as an investment, not a cost.

Before gaining a higher role with the Greyhounds and eventually joining NHL front offices, Dubas graduated from Brock University in 2007.

Dubas graduated with a degree in sports management.
