    Penguins Take Two More Finland Prospects in Seventh Round

    The Pittsburgh Penguins close out the 2023 NHL Draft with a pair of Finish prospects.

    New winger Reilly Smith checks a lot of boxes for the Pittsburgh Penguins heading into the 2023-24 season.

    That’s a wrap for the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 2023 NHL Draft; in total they made six selections including two in the seventh and final round.

    In the seventh round, the Penguins selected forward Emil Jarventie (217th overall) and defenseman Kalle Kangas (223rd overall).

    Both players are natives of Finland and shared a locker room on multiple occasions as part of Finish national teams.

    Jarventie clocks in as a 5-foot-10, 168 pound forward who played on four different teams during the 2022-23 season.

    Kangas was chosen 223rd overall out of 224 total picks and is a sizable blue liner, standing at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds.

    In total, Kyle Dubas and the Penguins drafted three prospects that are Finland natives, including third-round pick Emil Pieniniemi.

    The Penguins selected four forwards and two defenders at the draft and did not take a goalie.

    Next up on the docket for the Penguins is free agency which begins on Saturday.

    I'm not sure it would work but I'd love to see them try Bucket with those two. He's got hands and an ability to carry the puck through a crowd, plus as he grows into his frame he could become a monster along the boards and in front of the net.

    Eventually, Beckett Sennecke. The trio of Carlsson, Gauthier, and Sennecke would be very difficult for the opposing team to counter. The length all of them possess would allow them to cover the entire width of the ice. They would score a bunch of goals while not giving up much.

    silentboba That's a good shout. That trio could do some real damage on both sides of the puck and dominate possession. The only draw back may be that they're all so puck-dominant
