Tristan Jarry backstopped the Pittsburgh Penguins to his second shutout of the season.

Asking the Pittsburgh Penguins find their way back to the win column against an undefeated Colorado Avalanche was a tall task, but they proved to be up for the occasion.

Not only did the Penguins as a team play one of their best games of the season, but their goalie Tristan Jarry stood on his head against one of the strongest offenses in the NHL.

Jarry posted his second shutout of the season with a 31-save performance, including a handful of highlight-reel stops in key situations.

Heading into the contest, Jarry was carrying a two-game losing streak and desperate for an early win to push momentum for the Penguins.

According to head coach Mike Sullivan, this was a huge win in so many different ways for Jarry.

“I think it should give him a lot of confidence,” Sullivan said. “I think he played extremely well. This is his best game of the year.”

Sullivan stated that it was an important win for the Penguins as a whole, but Jarry specifically stole the show.

“This was an important win for our team for a lot of reasons,” Sullivan said. “Certain individuals should gain a boost of confidence from how they played in this one, Jars might be at the top of that list.”

Meanwhile, Jarry said he is feeling good and is only looking to improve upon this momentum he just gained.

“Just another game for me,” Jarry said. “I want to be solid back there. I want the guys to know what they’re going to get every night.”

Jarry is kicking off a new five-year contract with the Penguins which many believe is a huge risk by the team, but he is starting to really show the kind of skill he has.

The Penguins know what they have with Jarry and believe he can be one of the best.

“We have full belief in him,” Marcus Pettersson said. “He showed tonight that he’s a top goalie in the league.”

For the next couple of weeks, the Penguins will utilize a lot of Jarry as backup goalie Alex Nedeljkovic was placed on long-term injured reserve.

Jarry collecting a big win right away should not only bring a ton of momentum to the team, but also for himself.
