Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports - Pregame Preview #59: Magnus Chrona Starts For Sharks; Visit Playoff-Bound Stars In First Of Back-To-Back

Magnus Chrona will get his second career NHL start for the San Jose Sharks (15-38-5) as they take on the red-hot Dallas Stars (36-17-9) in the first of a back-to-back.

Sharks head coach David Quinn confirmed that Givani Smith will re-enter the lineup as Alexander Barabanov deals with a minor lower-body injury. Ty Emberson will also be out tonight after picking up a laceration; either Calen Addison or Marc-Edouard Vlasic will take his place.

The Stars are 4-3-3 in their last ten games but just picked up their biggest win of the season, a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. The Stars sit in first place in the Central Division with 81 points.

Stars prospect Logan Stankoven has scored in his last three games. He has only played four career games in the NHL.

Dallas recently made a blockbuster trade with the Calgary Flames to acquire defenseman Chris Tanev. He is likely to make his Stars debut against the Sharks.

The Sharks will see two familiar faces in Joe Pavelski and Stars head coach Pete DeBoer.

San Jose is currently on a five-game losing streak. Quinn said he liked the effort his team put in against the Anaheim Ducks, but obviously, the result didn't favor the Sharks.

    Sharks projected line combinations:

    Duclair-Granlund-Zetterlund
    Zadina-Eklund-Kunin
    Hoffman-Sturm-Bailey
    Smith-Carpenter-Labanc

    Ferraro-Burroughs
    Thrun-Rutta
    Okhotiuk-Vlasic

    Chrona
    Kahkonen

Puck drop is at 5 p.m. PST and can be seen on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
