San Jose Sharks young stars Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith were given the traditional rookie solo lap before their first NHL game.

Both players came out helmetless, as it became a new tradition across the NHL to have the rookies start warmups without a helmet. Celebrini and Smith had spent a lot of time together leading up to tonight, and their friendship off the ice dripped onto their rookie laps with passes to each other.
