The San Jose Sharks have signed veteran forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year, $3 million contract.
Skinner, 33, scored 16 goals and 13 assists for 29 points in 72 games.
He just got his first experience in the Stanley Cup playoffs, after playing 1,078 games in the NHL. Over his career, he has 373 goals and 326 assists for 699 points.
Skinner not only adds depth in the lineup, he also adds a veteran voice in the locker room. He will be used up and down the roster, and if he plays well, could be used as a trade chip at 2026 NHL Trade Deadline.
The Sharks now have $20 million in projected salary cap space.
