The San Jose Sharks have traded Nico Sturm and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Florida Panthers for a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.

This is the second trade in as many days with the Panthers, as San Jose sent goaltender Vitek Vanecek to the reigning Stanley Cup Champions on Wednesday.

Sturm played 47 games for the Sharks this season, scoring seven goals and six assists. Sturm played 184 games for San Jose starting from the 2022-23 season.

He was a solid penalty killer and chipped in offense when he had the opportunity. Sturm is an elite face-off man who can kill penalties, which Flordia will utilize heavily in the postseason again.

San Jose is about to play in the seventh and final game of their longest road trip of the season against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

The NHL trade deadline is Friday, March 7th, at 3 p.m. ET.
