Despite a previous report suggesting that San Jose Sharks winger William Eklund had made Team Sweden for the Four Nations Face-Off, the official announcement revealed he didn't make the roster.
Eklund is having a breakout season offensively, with 23 points in 27 games, including the overtime-winning goal against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday. Over his last ten games, Eklund has three goals and eight assists.
Anaheim Ducks top center Leo Carlsson makes the roster as a 19-year-old, and Edmonton Oilers winger Viktor Arvidsson made the roster despite only having two goals and three assists in five games.
However, there is still a chance Eklund will make the team. Since the tournament isn't until February, each of the four nations is allowed to add a player to their roster due to an injury up to the start of the tournament on Feb. 12.
