Former San Jose Sharks head coach Pete DeBoer was named an assistant coach for Team Canada at the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off.
Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper is the bench boss. Along with DeBoer, Canada named 2024 Jack Adams Winner, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet, 2023 Stanley Cup Champion, Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy, and Misha Donskov as the other assistant coaches. Donskov is an assistant coach on DeBoer's staff with the Stars.
Six players have been officially named to Team Canada's roster. Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, Brayden Point, and Brad Marchand.
DeBoer remains the only coach in Sharks history to bring the franchise to the Stanley Cup Final. He did so in 2016 against the Pittsburgh Penguins but lost in six games.
The former Sharks bench boss was outspoken about coaching changes across the NHL. The Sharks were involved in the league's frequent coaching changes this offseason when they let David Quinn go to replace him with Ryan Warsofksy.
