Dean Tait - Hockey Shots - Postgame Reactions: Hertl, Ferraro, Sturm, & Quinn Discuss Sharks 3-2 Win Over Oilers

The San Jose Sharks have won two games in a row after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Thursday night.

Tomas Hertl, Mario Ferraro, Nico Sturm, and head coach David Quinn discussed this win.

    David Quinn Quotes:

"It just feels good to back up what we did the other night and even better."

"[We] get the chance to go play Vegas in Vegas. A team we've played well against over the last year plus. [We] had a good game with them here. Those two goals late in the third. The second period it was a 1-1 game. So I think we've come a long way since then."

"When you get a goalie like that, you just play with more swag, more confidence. He's given us that."

"Everybody was ready to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge after the loss to Pittsburgh. But it's 82 games. We didn't get four losses for that loss. It was just a loss. Pretty proud of our group to dust themselves off and show a lot of mental fortitude and toughness."

"Tommy was an absolute man. He really took charge. I loved his puck play. He was physical, right in the right place defensively."

    Tomas Hertl Quotes:

"It was for sure by far the best game of the year. I think everybody played really well. It wasn't one guy. Blackwood [was great] again, but it was a great effort from everybody."

"They keep working like that, I think they have big futures. I'm here to help them. I definitely had fun the last two games to play with them."

    Mario Ferraro Quotes:

"Feels a lot better now than a week ago when I was talking to you guys. It's like a weight off our shoulders a little bit to get the first one. Now, we're not gripping our sticks as tight. We're human beings, obviously. We got to be confident all the time, but you know, at the end of the day, we lose like we did early, you get a little nervous in games. Late in games trying to hold leads and stuff, and I just feel so much better right now with our group."

"My dad was here for the Philadelphia game too, so my girlfriend might not like this too much, but he might have to hang around a little bit. He can't leave until we lose, so we'll see. They get along great. I might be the one hurting a little bit more."

    Nico Sturm Quotes:

"Even though I'm a bottom-6 guy, penalty killer, I don't have the worst hands in the world. I can still make plays. When I dream of hockey at night, I don't dream of blocking shots."

"What I like most about the last two games is that once we gave up that goal before, the wheels just came off the whole ordeal. We just gave up a goal, or something happened in the game, and everything just went completely south. That's the biggest thing, whether we score one or give one up, I think we pretty much stayed the course of how we wanted to play."
