The San Jose Sharks (6-16-2) take on the No. 1 team in points % in the NHL tonight, the New York Rangers (17-4-1).

The Sharks are coming off their first road win of the season, a 6-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Friday. The Rangers beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 in Nashville last night.

Anthony Duclair returns to the place he was drafted by. He played 18 games for the Rangers and scored one goal and six assists.

"I started my career here, so it's always special [to] come back at MSG," Duclair said. "It is a historic building. It is always fun and special to come back."

Duclair said earlier in the year that his first NHL goal for the Rangers was one of his favorite career moments.

Alexander Barabanov and Jan Rutta will return to the lineup tonight for the Sharks. Barabanov has not played since Oct. 24 against the Florida Panthers. Rutta is returning after missing five games. He got hurt after taking a hard hit against the Seattle Kraken.

Sharks' head coach confirmed that Mackenzie Blackwood will start in goal.

Luke Kunin was placed on IR yesterday, and Quinn said he would be re-evaluated in a week.

"It is a little different [than Barabanov's injury]," Quinn said about Kunin's finger.

The Sharks also placed Nikolai Knyzhov on waivers yesterday.

Here is how the Sharks project to line up:

Eklund-Hertl-Barabanov
Zetterlund-Granlund-Duclair
MacDonald-Sturm-Labanc
Bailey-Carpenter-Hoffman

Ferraro-Emberson
Addison-Benning
Okhotuik-Rutta

Blackwood
Kahkonen

Quinn said there are still some injury question marks after the morning skate. Ty Emberson was speaking with trainers right after. Quinn wouldn't confirm that injury, but if he is out, expect Kyle Burroughs to play.
