Brandon Svoboda was the only San Jose Sharks prospect to receive an invite to the preliminary Team USA 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship roster.
The 2023 third-round pick has done nothing but move up the rankings of team prospects. As a freshman at Boston University, Svoboda has three goals in nine games.
At 6'3 and 190 lbs, Svoboda can use his big frame to get into the dirty areas of the ice. He is strong along the boards and combines touch around the net with a terrific wrist shot; you get an impactful scorer. While he hasn't found scoring consistently as a freshman, Svoboda is 19 and likely will need another year of college hockey before turning pro.
As reported earlier this week, Quentin Musty would not receive an invite to this camp before his injury.
The tournament will take place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 and is being hosted in Ottawa.
