The San Jose Sharks' AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, have made it to the second round of the AHL's Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Barracuda played the Ontario Reign in the first round in a best-of-three series. San Jose beat the Reign 2-0 in Game 1 and 2-1 in Game 2 to sweep the series 2-0.

Now, they will face off against the Colorado Eagles in the Round of 16 in a best-of-five series, which will start Friday, May 2.

The Barracuda finished sixth in the Pacific Division and upset the third-seeded Reign. The Eagles are the top-seeded team in the division, which will be a tough challenge for San Jose.

The Barracuda do have some good news, though — goaltender Yaroslav Askarov is back to full health and will give them their best chance at winning the series.
