The San Jose Barracuda kick off their second-round playoff series against the Colorado Eagles in the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs.

In the first round, they beat the Ontario Reign in two straight games to advance, where the Eagles were waiting.

Colorado got a bye after finishing as the third-best team in the league, which makes this matchup a tough one for the Barracuda. The good news is they’ll have a fully healthy Yaroslav Askarov in net to help them try and take down the Eagles.

This marks the first time since 2019 that the Barracuda are playing playoff hockey in San Jose. Six years is a long time without postseason action, and while the San Jose Sharks are still rebuilding, this gives fans of the organization a chance to watch some of their future stars in a meaningful series.

The series is set to begin on May 2, with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Sharks’ team page at The Hockey News will have updates throughout the series, so make sure you bookmark the page to stay up to date.
