Andrew Poturalski, a 31-year-old center, leads the AHL with 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists). Poturalski signed a two-year contract with San Jose this summer and has been to three straight Calder Cup Finals.

The forward has been the focal point of the San Jose Barracuda's turnaround season. His elite play and veteran leadership have helped guide a young team to a 23-13-2-3 record, good for fifth in the Pacific Division.

Poturalski spent the last two seasons with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, part of the Seattle Kraken organization, where he led them to two straight Calder Cup Finals losses at the hands of the Hershey Bears.

The Sharks are slightly shorthanded at forward, with injuries to Alexander Wennberg, Klim Kostin, and Nikolai Kovalenko. They also traded away Mikael Granlund.

Poturalski has played just six NHL games, scoring two assists. He's played four career games for the Carolina Hurricanes and twice with the Kraken in 23-24.

San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky had Poturalski during his time with the Chicago Wolves during the 21-22 season. That Wolves team would win the Calder Cup, and Poturalski scored 101 points (28 goals, 73 assists) in the regular season.
