Although he is currently in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks, defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin has been added to the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic.
Mukhamadullin has played most of the season in the AHL with the San Jose Barracuda and will likely be re-assigned to the AHL after the Sharks play their final game before the break.
He will join Barracuda teammate Danil Gushchin at the event. He has been solid in his two NHL games. Against the Seattle Kraken last night, Mukhamadullin played 22:08 and finished +1. He has been paired with Jan Rutta.
"I thought again, he played with confidence," Quinn said postgame. "He gets to pucks. He's poised. He holds it [and] makes good decisions. His intentions are good defensively. I really liked what I saw again tonight."
In 39 games in the AHL, Mukhamadullin has 26 points (5 goals, 26 assists).
The AHL All-Star Classic will take place on February 4-5 at the home of the Barracuda at Tech CU Arena.
