AL FREY/for the Free Press / USA TODAY NETWORK - Sharks Fans Must Become Blackhawks Fans Against Blues

If the Chicago Blackhawks beat the St. Louis Blues, the San Jose Sharks will clinch the best odds for the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery.

Tonight could be the night that the struggles are celebrated for Sharks fans. San Jose is in last place with 45 points, six behind the Blackhawks. If the Blackhawks win in regulation, they will have an eight-point gap with four games to go.

The Blackhawks can win in any fashion, as the Sharks have clinched the fewest wins in the NHL for the second straight season. With 18 wins so far this season, the Sharks can only come within one of the Blackhawks' 23, as only four games are remaining.

Chicago is currently six points ahead of San Jose and because of their total wins, San Jose would only be able to match their point total if both teams lose the rest of their games after a Hawks win tonight.

If they clinch the number one odds tonight, the Sharks will have a 25.5% chance of winning the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. Boston University's Macklin Celebrini is the unquestioned top prospect.

Sharks fans will have to dawn their original six Chicago Blackhawks fan hat for one night to have the best chance at drafting a possible generational talent.
